AI Summary

This bill creates a new section of Kentucky's insurance code to require health benefit plans to provide coverage for contraceptive drugs, devices, procedures, patient education, and related follow-up services. It also amends existing laws to ensure the Medicaid program, the Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program, and the state employee health plan comply with the new contraceptive coverage requirements. The bill includes an exemption for religious employers who object to providing contraceptive coverage for religious reasons, and clarifies that the new contraceptive coverage requirements do not violate Kentucky's law protecting the free exercise of religion. The new contraceptive coverage requirements take effect on January 1, 2022.
