This bill adds a new section to the Idaho Code to provide for a motor vehicle registration fee discount of 50% for active duty military members stationed outside of Idaho at the time of registration renewal. The bill allows active duty military members stationed outside of Idaho after initially registering their vehicle to request a retroactive refund based on the number of months they were stationed outside the state during the registration period. To qualify for the fee reduction, the person must maintain an Idaho vehicle title, provide proof of Idaho residency, and provide proof of deployment outside of Idaho.
