This bill creates the Legislative Process Review Commission, a temporary 10-member commission tasked with reviewing and developing policy proposals related to improving the legislative process in areas such as transparency, legislator compensation, staff support, session rules, the capital outlay process, and public access. The commission is required to submit a report with recommendations and proposed legislation to the New Mexico Legislative Council by October 31, 2022. The commission can hire staff and request assistance from the Legislative Council Service, and members are entitled to per diem and mileage compensation.
