The bill creates a mechanism for seniors (age 55 and over) to volunteer their services for environmental purposes, and establishes a Senior Environmental Corps Coordinating Council to oversee the program. The bill outlines the goals of the corps, which include providing resources and support for corps activities, carrying out conservation and environmental projects, providing meaningful volunteer opportunities for seniors, and enhancing community understanding of environmental issues.
