This bill amends provisions pertaining to the marriage of a minor in Utah. It changes the timeframe for a marriage license to be used from 30 days to 32 days after issuance. It also adds requirements for minors applying for a marriage license, including providing documentation to establish the minor's legal relationship with their parent or legal guardian, the minor's legal name and identity, and the minor's birth date. The bill also requires the minor and their parent or legal guardian to obtain written authorization from a judge or court commissioner, who must determine that the minor is entering the marriage voluntarily and that the marriage is in the minor's best interests. Additionally, the judge or commissioner may require the minor to continue attending school and impose other reasonable conditions.
