This bill eliminates the statute of limitations for civil lawsuits related to personal injury arising from certain offenses against children, including sexual assault, continuous sexual abuse, sexual trafficking, and indecency with a child. The bill applies retroactively to all such causes of action, regardless of whether the previous statute of limitations had already expired. However, the changes do not affect final judgments in litigation where the previous statute of limitations was not determinative. The bill takes effect on September 1, 2021.
