Bill Summary

AN ACT To require the Federal Communications Commission to in- corporate data on maternal health outcomes into its broadband health maps.

AI Summary

This bill, the Data Mapping to Save Moms' Lives Act, requires the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to incorporate publicly available data on maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity, including for at least 1 year postpartum, into the FCC's Mapping Broadband Health in America platform. The FCC must consult with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to determine which maternal health data should be included in this mapping effort. The goal of this legislation is to help identify areas with poor maternal health outcomes and use that information to improve broadband access and connectivity in those regions, which could ultimately contribute to saving mothers' lives.
