This bill requires the Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to establish an advisory board, called the Women of Trucking Advisory Board, to review and report on policies and programs to provide education, training, mentorship, or outreach to women in the trucking industry, as well as to recruit, retain, or advance women in the trucking industry. The board will be composed of representatives from large, mid-sized, and small trucking companies, nonprofit organizations, trucking business associations, independent owner-operators, women professional truck drivers, and institutions of higher education or trucking trade schools. The board will identify barriers and industry trends that discourage women from pursuing and retaining careers in trucking, and provide recommendations to the Administrator on how to address these issues and create new opportunities for women in the industry.
