Bill Summary
AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to minority and womenowned business enterprises in state contracts
AI Summary
This bill amends the Executive Law to require state contracting agencies to set Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) participation goals that align with the percentage of certified MWBEs in the industry and region where the contract is to be performed. The bill requires the Department of Economic Development to publish these regional MWBE participation rates for each industry on its website and update them annually.
