This bill amends, repeals, and adds to existing law regarding driver's education programs and driver's permits. Key provisions include: 1. Repealing Chapter 17, Title 33 of the Idaho Code, which dealt with driver's education programs. 2. Amending Section 49-303 of the Idaho Code to remove the requirement that 15-17 year old drivers complete a driver's training course before obtaining a license, and to allow 16 year olds who have completed a driver's education course in another state to obtain an Idaho license. 3. Repealing Section 49-307 of the Idaho Code and adding a new Section 49-307 that establishes a learner's permit for 14-15 year olds, an intermediate license for 16-18 year olds who have met certain requirements, and maintains the ability for 17+ year olds to get a license without going through the permit/intermediate stages. 4. Amending Section 49-307A to remove the requirement that minors obtain a driver's education course before getting a restricted school attendance driving permit.
