This initiative aims to improve seniors' independence and safety by ensuring they can safely access essential services and participate in community life, considering factors like pedestrian-friendly walkways, pathways, and roadways. The DOT will also be asked to collaborate with local legislators, incorporate existing transportation plans, identify funding, and develop safety protocols and educational resources, ultimately submitting a report with findings and recommendations to the Legislature.
