This bill, known as the Jenna Quinn Law, amends the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act to provide grants for field-initiated projects that advance, establish, or implement comprehensive, innovative, evidence-based or evidence-informed child sexual abuse awareness and prevention programs. The grants can be used to improve student awareness of child sexual abuse, train teachers and other adults who work with children on recognizing and reporting child sexual abuse, and provide information to parents and guardians about child sexual abuse awareness and prevention. The bill also requires the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services to prepare reports evaluating the effectiveness of the funded projects and examining whether they are duplicative of other federally-funded activities.
