This Concurrent Resolution requests the Governor to verify that all entities leasing state public lands are meeting their obligations and to prevent the state from entering into new leases or renewing existing ones with any individual, company, or government body that has not fulfilled all their financial, contractual, and legal responsibilities. This action is prompted by concerns that some current lessees, including the U.S. Department of Defense and Monsanto Company, have outstanding financial debts, have failed to perform required environmental maintenance, or have engaged in criminal activity, thereby not being in "good standing" with the state.
