This Resolution requests the University of Hawaii to develop training programs for community health workers, who are vital professionals that connect disadvantaged populations with culturally appropriate health care resources, especially in rural areas. The resolution emphasizes the need for this curriculum to be culturally sensitive to the diverse communities served and for distance-learning options to be incorporated to ensure equitable access for students on neighbor islands, thereby expanding opportunities in the healthcare profession.
