AI Summary

This bill prohibits employers, labor organizations, employment agencies, and state/municipal agencies from using a person's consumer credit history for employment, licensing, and permitting decisions, with some exceptions. The term "consumer credit history" is defined to include information about an individual's creditworthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, or payment history. The bill makes an exception for certain positions like peace officers and police officers, and does not affect obligations related to public employee conflict of interest disclosures. The Division of Human Rights will also request information from agencies and employers about their use of the exemptions and submit a report to the legislature within two years.
