AI Summary
This bill proposes to decriminalize the possession, distribution, and dispensing of marijuana in Louisiana. It removes the criminal penalties associated with these activities, but it also includes several provisions to maintain restrictions and allow for regulation of the legal sale and distribution of marijuana. The bill will only become effective if the legislature provides for a statutory regulatory system and a sales tax on the legal sale of marijuana. The bill also clarifies that the provisions do not prohibit employers from enforcing workplace policies or schools from maintaining drug-free zones.
