This bill prohibits the use of nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) that prevent the disclosure of information related to certain types of claims, such as sex offenses, sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, between an employer and employee or between employees. The bill allows for a provision that shields the identity of the claimant/victim at their written request, but otherwise voids any NDA provision that prevents the disclosure of factual information related to these types of claims. The bill also prohibits the use of public funds to settle such claims against public employees and imposes potential professional discipline on attorneys who demand or advise clients to include prohibited NDA provisions.
