This bill amends the existing Massachusetts law to expand the requirements for labeling packages containing marijuana or marijuana products. The key provisions include: requiring a symbol or mark indicating the package contains marijuana, a symbol warning that the product is harmful to children, the name and contact information of the cultivator or manufacturer, test results and a seal of certification, a unique batch number, a list of ingredients and allergens, the amount of THC, the number of servings, a use-by date if applicable, and comprehensive rotating health warnings highlighting potential risks such as increased risk of psychosis, schizophrenia, and suicide, especially for young or frequent users. The regulations must be periodically updated based on emerging science and best practices for effective warning communication.
