This bill amends the existing law to include the city of Revere in the list of municipalities where the Massachusetts Department of Transportation can collect tolls on the Tobin/Mystic River Bridge and the Sumner Tunnel. Additionally, the bill directs the department to establish a zone-based toll discount program for private passenger vehicles that use the Sumner Tunnel, Ted Williams Tunnel, and the Tobin Memorial Bridge. The discounts will be based on the proximity of the resident's municipality to these toll collection sites, and the program is limited to residents of municipalities north of Boston that are located adjacent to U.S. Route 1 who participate in the department's electronic toll collection system.
