This bill establishes the MassMade Program, which is aimed at identifying, connecting, and supporting businesses that produce consumer goods in Massachusetts. The program will act as a resource for consumers seeking locally-made products and work with various stakeholders to collect and provide information about MassMade businesses, which are defined as entities that produce consumer goods in the state, are headquartered or have a principal place of business in Massachusetts, and hold a certificate of good standing from the Department of Revenue. The Massachusetts Office of Business Development will oversee the program and may expend funds and accept federal or private grants to support its operations. The bill also requires the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance to submit a report on promoting and supporting Massachusetts-based businesses in the state's bidding process, and the Massachusetts Office of Business Development to conduct a feasibility study on an internet-based system to facilitate information exchange for the MassMade Program.
