This bill amends the presumptive disability law to provide that any condition of impairment of health caused by a blood-borne infectious disease (such as HIV, AIDS, or hepatitis) resulting in total or partial disability or death to certain public employees, including uniformed members of fire and police departments, corrections officers, and airport workers, shall be presumed to have been suffered in the line of duty, unless proven otherwise. This presumption applies if the employee successfully passed a physical examination on entry into service or subsequently, and the examination did not reveal any evidence of the condition.
