This bill extends certain benefits for firefighters to include permanent crash crewmen, crash boatmen, fire controlmen, and assistant fire controlmen employed at the General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, members of the Massachusetts military reservation fire department, and members of the 104th fighter wing fire department. Specifically, the bill applies the accidental disability retirement provisions in sections 100 and 100B of chapter 41 of the General Laws to these additional groups of firefighters, and it also allows members of the 104th fighter wing fire department and the Massachusetts military reservation fire department to qualify for the presumption of job-related disability under sections 94, 94A, and 94B of chapter 32 if they passed a physical examination upon entry into those departments before transitioning to state employment.
