This bill amends Chapter 90 of the Massachusetts General Laws to allow municipal emergency management vehicles to display flashing, rotating, or oscillating green lights. The bill prohibits the use of such green lights on any other motor vehicles, except for official police vehicles displaying red lights and fire apparatus displaying blue lights. The bill requires the emergency management director to obtain a written permit from the registrar of motor vehicles before mounting green lights on a vehicle, and the registrar can revoke the permit if the lights are used improperly. Violators of the law are subject to a fine of between $100 and $300.
