This bill amends existing law to allow liquor licensees, specifically those holding a Class C license, to employ individuals with a prior conviction for a crime involving moral turpitude without needing special approval from the director or a rehabilitation employment permit, provided the individual's job duties do not involve serving, selling, or soliciting sales of alcoholic beverages, mixing or preparing them, providing security or admission monitoring, or performing management or professional services. However, this exemption does not apply to individuals convicted of a sex offense as defined by law or a crime involving moral turpitude committed while already working on licensed premises.
