This bill further amends the Patient Test Result Information Act by modifying the definitions of "diagnostic imaging service" and removing the definition of "significant abnormality". It changes the notification requirements for entities performing diagnostic imaging services, now requiring written notice to the patient or their designee at the time of the service, with instructions to contact the ordering practitioner if the patient is not contacted within 21 days or cannot access the results in their electronic health record. The bill also expands the duties of the Department of Health to include coordinating with state licensing boards on complaints related to entities performing diagnostic imaging services not under the Department's jurisdiction.
