This fund supports the Pediatric Research Initiative, which is housed within the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives at the NIH, rather than the Common Fund. The bill also includes a sense of Congress that the NIH Director should oversee and coordinate research on pediatric cancer and other pediatric diseases, and prioritize research that does not duplicate existing NIH activities.
