This bill extends the county-wide shared services initiative and enhances the flexibility within. Specifically, it amends the General Municipal Law to extend the authority of a county chief executive officer (CEO) to convene a panel for the purpose of revising or updating a previously approved plan, or developing a new plan, from December 31, 2021 to December 31, 2024. The bill also changes the reporting deadline for the Department of State to prepare a report on the county-wide shared services plans from June 30, 2022 to June 30, 2025. Additionally, the bill expands the eligible time periods for savings from new shared services actions to be eligible for matching funding.
