This bill establishes a "Gambling Treatment Diversion Court Pilot Program" within the New Jersey criminal justice system. The program aims to provide treatment and rehabilitation for individuals who have committed crimes due to or in furtherance of a gambling addiction, defined as a "person with an addictive disorder related to gambling" or "disordered gambling." The program would be administered by the Administrative Office of the Courts and includes specific requirements, such as the participant agreeing to pay restitution, receiving counseling and support, and being supervised by a qualified mental health professional for a period of at least one year.
