Bill Summary
AN ACT To conduct a pilot program at foreign last point of departure airports to permit passengers and their accessible prop- erty to continue on additional flights or flight segments originating in the United States without additional secu- rity re-screening, and for other purposes.
AI Summary
This bill establishes a pilot program at up to six foreign last point of departure airports to allow passengers and their accessible property arriving on direct flights to the United States to continue on additional flights within the United States without additional security rescreening. The program requires the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to ensure there is no reduction in aviation security standards, and allows the TSA Administrator to determine if checked baggage must be rescreened before continuing on additional flights. The pilot program will terminate six years after enactment, and the Secretary of Homeland Security must submit a report to Congress on the program's impact and feasibility of continuing or expanding it.
