This bill amends Section 12e of Chapter XVII of the 1927 PA 175 (also known as the Code of Criminal Procedure) to enhance the penalties for moving violations that cause physical injury or death to a "vulnerable roadway user" or an operator of an implement of husbandry. The bill creates a new felony offense for a moving violation causing serious injury to a vulnerable roadway user or operator of an implement of husbandry, with a maximum sentence of 5 years. It also enhances the existing felony offense for a moving violation causing death to a vulnerable roadway user or operator of an implement of husbandry, increasing the maximum sentence from 15 to 15 years.
