This bill requires the State 911 Department to create, in consultation with organizations representing individuals with disabilities, a statewide disability indicator form that can be completed and submitted by subscribers of wireless, wireline, or prepaid wireless telephone services to notify primary and regional 911 public safety answering points (PSAPs) of certain disabilities. The form must be written in clear, understandable language, accessible to those with visual disabilities, and translated into other languages where 5% or more of the Commonwealth's citizens speak a language other than English. The form allows individuals to identify various conditions, including the use of life-sustaining equipment, mobility impairments, visual or hearing impairments, speech impediments, cognitive impairments, and the need for service animals or translation services. The Department is also required to annually review and update the form as needed.
