This bill proposes an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution to further provide exemptions and special provisions. The key provisions include: 1. Expanding the real property tax exemption for citizens and residents who served in the U.S. armed forces, including reserves and National Guard, and were honorably discharged or released. The exemption applies if they are blind, paraplegic, double or quadruple amputees, or have a 100% service-connected disability, and the State Veterans' Commission determines they are in need based on their economic circumstances. 2. Extending the exemption to the unmarried surviving spouse of an eligible veteran, and to the surviving spouse of a member of the armed forces killed in action or missing in action. 3. Requiring the Secretary of the Commonwealth to advertise the proposed amendment and submit it to the qualified electors of Pennsylvania for a vote at the next primary, general, or municipal election that occurs at least three months after the amendment is passed by the General Assembly.
