This bill amends the New York Education Law to provide that the unauthorized or unlicensed practice of massage therapy, as well as the aiding or abetting of such practice, shall not be deemed a crime of unauthorized practice. The bill also specifies that the unauthorized or unlicensed use of titles related to massage therapy, or the description or advertisement of massage therapy services by unauthorized or unlicensed individuals, shall not be a violation of the relevant sections of the Education Law. The Attorney General or the Department of Education retains the authority to pursue civil penalties and seek injunctive relief for violations of the law.
