This bill amends Massachusetts law to allow individuals to change the sex designation on their birth certificate to "female", "male", or "X" (indicating another or undesignated gender) without requiring medical documentation. It also requires the Registry of Motor Vehicles to permit individuals to designate "X", "M", or "F" for gender on driver's licenses, learner's permits, and identification cards without any additional documentation. Additionally, the bill directs the Secretary of Administration and Finance to develop a plan to ensure that all state forms and documents provide an option for individuals to choose a gender other than male or female, in compliance with federal regulations. The bill's changes are set to take effect on July 1, 2022.
