This bill amends the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to further provide exemptions from jury duty. Specifically, it adds a new exemption for caregivers who are not employed outside the home and have primary responsibility for the active care of a child under seven years of age or an individual with a permanent physical or intellectual disability, if they do not have alternative care available or are unable to afford it. The court may require a notarized affidavit from the caregivers attesting to these conditions, and they may be excused permanently or for a limited period as the court determines necessary.
