This bill expands the eligibility for state veteran bonus awards to include non-Massachusetts origin veterans who have been domiciled in the Commonwealth for either at least 6 months prior to entering service or at least 10 years after their discharge or release from service. The bill also provides a $500 bonus for veterans who served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as a $300 bonus for other National Guard and Reserve members who supported those operations. Additionally, it allows active service members who received an honorable discharge to receive the bonus payments.
