This bill, the Water Advanced Technologies for Efficient Resource Use Act of 2021, aims to promote the use of water-efficient products. It does this by: 1) Requiring federal agencies to procure WaterSense-certified products, which are water-efficient products approved under the Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense program, with some exceptions. 2) Establishing a grant program for eligible entities, such as state/local governments and water utilities, to provide incentives to consumers for purchasing WaterSense products. 3) Excluding from federal income tax any incentives received by consumers for purchasing WaterSense products. 4) Expanding the existing tax exclusion for energy conservation subsidies to include water conservation and stormwater management measures. The overall goal is to promote the adoption of water-efficient technologies and practices to help reduce water consumption.
