This bill, the Advancing Tech Startups Act, requires the Secretary of Commerce to conduct a study on the impact of technology startup companies on the U.S. economy. The study must include a survey of technology startup locations and activities, a list of relevant federal agencies and their jurisdictions, an analysis of federal regulations and policies impacting technology startups, and an assessment of risks and trends in marketplaces and supply chains affecting technology startups. The Secretary must then submit a report to Congress with recommendations to promote the creation and growth of technology startups, develop policies for states to encourage startups, and mitigate current and emerging risks to relevant markets and supply chains.
