This bill directs the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop an Ethical Ecotourism license plate. The annual use fees from the sale of the plate will be distributed equally between the Florida Society for Ethical Ecotourism, Inc. and Paddle Florida, Inc., which can use up to 10% of the proceeds for administrative costs and marketing. The remaining funds must be used by the Florida Society for Ethical Ecotourism, Inc. to provide environmental education and awareness that encourage sustainable behaviors, and by Paddle Florida, Inc. to raise awareness about water conservation, wildlife preservation, springs restoration, and waterway protection in Florida. The bill takes effect on October 1, 2022.
