This bill requires certain health and casualty insurers, including health insurance policies, group or blanket policies, and contracts issued by corporations, to provide coverage for prenatal vitamins when prescribed or ordered by a healthcare provider. The coverage may be subject to annual deductibles and coinsurance as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent and consistent with other benefits in the policy or contract. The bill will take effect on January 1st of the year following the date it becomes law and will apply to policies issued, reissued, renewed, modified, or amended on or after that date.
