This bill authorizes the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to waive the fees for a non-driver identification card if an applicant, at the time of application, submits proof that the applicant is enrolled in a public assistance or social service program, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the Work First New Jersey program, or the Medicaid program. This provision is intended to make it easier for individuals who are enrolled in these types of public assistance or social service programs to obtain a non-driver identification card without having to pay the associated fees.
