This bill modifies campaign finance laws in Missouri. It repeals the existing Section 130.047 and replaces it with a new section. The new section requires any person who is not a defined committee and makes expenditures of $500 or more in support of or opposition to candidates or ballot measures to file a report with the appropriate election authority. The report must include the name and address of the person making the expenditure, the date and amount, the payee, and a description of the purpose. If additional expenditures are made, a further report must be filed. The bill also adds a new subsection requiring any entity that is not a defined committee and makes expenditures of $500 or more in support of or opposition to candidates, elected officials, issues before the state legislature, or ballot measures to file quarterly reports disclosing donors who contributed more than $50 to the entity in the previous quarter.
