Currently, to be eligible for the program, a senior citizen or disabled person is required to have maintained a principal residence in New Jersey for at least ten consecutive years, at least three of which are as a homeowner. The bill changes this requirement by extending eligibility to senior citizens and disabled persons who have continuously maintained a principal residence in New Jersey as a homeowner for the immediately preceding three years.
