This bill amends the Public School Code of 1949 to require each school entity (e.g., school district, charter school, etc.) to annually provide parent educational information regarding eating disorders for students in grades 6 through 12. The Department of Education, in conjunction with the Department of Health, will establish an Eating Disorders Task Force to develop guidelines for providing this information, which must be shared with parents via email or mail, as well as on school portals. The Task Force will meet at least twice per school year to reassess the information, and the Departments will identify any necessary changes to school health regulations and materials related to eating disorder prevention education.
