This bill: - Defines the term "acute hospital care at home" to mean acute and post-acute health care services provided in a clinically qualified patient's permanent residence through a program approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Agency for Health Care Administration. - Authorizes paramedics to provide basic and advanced life support services to patients receiving acute hospital care at home, and provides that the supervising physician is liable for any act or omission by the paramedic during the provision of such services. - Defines "acute hospital care at home" in the context of pharmacy regulations, and allows Class III institutional pharmacies to dispense, distribute, compound, and fill prescriptions for medicinal drugs for patients receiving such care. - Makes various conforming changes to other sections of Florida law to reflect the new definition of "acute hospital care at home" and the expanded role of paramedics and pharmacies in providing such care. The overall purpose of this bill is to authorize and regulate the provision of hospital-level care in a patient's home, including through the use of paramedics and institutional pharmacies, in order to expand access to acute medical services.
