This bill makes several changes to the licensure requirements for land surveyors and mappers in Florida. It: 1. Defines an "accredited college or university" to include regional accrediting agencies, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, and agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. 2. Allows an exiled professional who has lawfully practiced the profession for at least 3 years to substitute that experience for the education requirement to take the licensure examination. 3. Expands the education and experience requirements to include applicants with an associate degree or a high school diploma plus 6 years of relevant experience. 4. Allows an applicant who holds a valid license from another state, jurisdiction, or territory, and has 2 years of experience, to take the licensure examination. 5. Exempts certain county and state property appraisal employees from the surveying and mapping licensure requirements, as long as they do not perform any surveying activities. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2022.
