This bill abrogates the repeal of provisions that authorize the Governor of Florida to present the "Governor's Medal of Freedom" to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the interests and residents of the state, its culture, or other notable public or private endeavors. The bill removes the July 1, 2022 expiration date for this award, allowing the Governor to continue presenting the medal. Additionally, the bill updates the language to refer to "residents" instead of "citizens" and removes the requirement that a recipient must have been previously chosen to receive the award.
