This bill repeals and reenacts the state law on prohibited political contributions. It sets limits on the amounts that individuals, corporations, candidate committees, non-candidate political committees, and political advocacy organizations can contribute to candidates, political committees, and political parties. The bill also allows partnerships and labor unions to establish their own political committees to make political contributions, as long as the funds used by the committee are separate from the organization's other funds. The bill will take effect on January 1, 2023.
