Bill Summary
AN ACT Relating to recognizing the lasting immune protection resulting from recovery from COVID-19; and adding a new section to chapter 70.54 RCW.
AI Summary
This bill recognizes the lasting immune protection resulting from recovery from COVID-19. It declares that there is no rational basis to treat individuals who have had a previous COVID-19 infection differently from individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccine. The bill also states that any statute, ordinance, rule, regulation, policy, or practice by a public entity, private business, or place of public accommodation that is inconsistent with this recognition is null and void. Additionally, the state of Washington fully occupies and preempts the entire field of requirements related to this protection, and political subdivisions of the state may only enact laws, ordinances, and regulations that are consistent with this section.
