AI Summary

This bill proposes to limit campaign contributions to candidates for statewide office (Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General) and the General Assembly to $20,000 per election cycle. The limits do not apply to contributions made by the candidate to their own campaign, contributions from the candidate's family members, or contributions from political party committees. The bill also includes provisions to prevent the circumvention of these limits through subdivided or indirect contributions. Violations of the contribution limits can result in civil penalties of up to twice the excess contribution amount, to be collected by the State Board and deposited in the general fund.
